In my last posting, you have known about stroke in badminton. Now i will tell you about footwork or step on playing badminton. Please accsess the link "Read More" below to see the detail.

Footwork it is a basic for produce a quality stroke, that is when done in good position. To be able to strike with good position, an athlete must has speed of movement. Speed of footwork can not be achieved if footwork- bot regular. There is a several factor that must be your attention about attitude in the field and how to create a good quality of footwork.
  • Always stand with correct attitude and position above field.
  • Do movement step forwards, rear, aside right and left at the (time) of strike shuttlecock, while permanent pay attention balance of body.
  • Movement of step while slide down fast, very effective as efforts to strike shuttlecock.
  • Avoid to stand with sole at floor (stead on floor) at the (time) of wait incoming the shuttlecock or at the (time) of move to strike shuttlecock.

Here the ilustration that i draw by my self about footwork practice. You can do this ilustration by follow the step from 1 to 8. Picture 1 is to practice footwork into right and left side the field, whereas picture 2 is to practice footwork into front-right side and front-left side of the field.

This footwork practice also called shadow. Shadow is one of many exercise that doing without shuttlecock, just only do step for increase speed on badminton. You can do this movement before play the game or while doing physical exercise.
Okay, that’s all about footwork that i know. I suggest you to do this movement always before playing the game or after you do warming-up. I’m sorry my picture is not too good. Thanks.
